This to remind you that that we have a Solent Branch RIN meeting at Ordnance Survey on 22nd Feb 18.

Details are shown on the attached notice , Prior booking is required using "Eventbrite." Each person may require a separate booking. For any guests, please show their names above your e-mail address. Prior booking is via the events section of the RIN website - www.rin.org.uk.

It should be an unusual and interesting evening - FOC - guests and members of associated organisations welcome.

Prompt booking would assist advising OS of likely numbers for refreshments on arrival.

How the human brain makes a map of space.

Why does it work better in some people than in others? When people think about where they want to go, they call to mind a "mental map". Where is this map in the brain and how is it made?

In her talk the speaker will explain some of the research which has taken place in recent years and shed light on these questions, and also reveal the surprising discovery that our map and memory are closely intertwined.

There is no charge for attendance and members' guests will be welcome. Please note the timing is 1830 for signing in etc for the start at 1900. Please carry photo ID.

Before the meeting some members might like to go to the very nearby pub, the Walnut Tree Farm, Adanac Drive, Nursling, SO16 0AU arriving at around 1715. They do a carvery meal for circa £7-00. Pay them directly when ordering.
