HSSC Weekly Update Friday 9th June 2017

Dear Members,

Marina Works - The final MOD works on the Pontoon replacement will take place next week over Tues and Wed 13/14th Jun. Pedestrian access and utility services to Fieldhouse will not be available over both days - please plan accordingly. Should the works run over I will keep you informed. If you require an alternative berth please get in touch with the Marina staff or myself.

New Marina Staff Member - I am pleased to welcome Paul Jones as our new Marina Staff member. If you get the opportunity please welcome Paul to the team.

Big Buoy Challenge Sat 17 Jun - For those entering and have not already submitted entries forms find attached. On completion of the BBC from 6.30pm there with be a Hog Roast together with Entertainment by 'Let me be Frank'. Tickets £10/ or £5 children under 12.


Bar and Restaurant Refurbishment - The refurbishment to the bar is almost complete with only the floor left to do. I hope you will all agree that this is a huge improvement and the staff enjoy working in their new surroundings. The restaurant refurbishment will start on Sat 24 Jun and all drinks and food service will switch to the Fabrosa Room. The work is expected to take 3 weeks. The major work involves: removing the centre panel to improve acoustics; new lighting; flooring; install a hearing loop; and general upkeep to the bulkheads and new furnishings. We are hugely grateful to the Services Charities/ Sports Funds and the Service Sailing Associations for their generous offer of grants towards the work.

Sat 10 Jun Gosport Marine Peninsula Pursuit - Takes place tomorrow, Saturday. The evening will start with; Fizz at 5, Prizegiving at 6.00pm, Entertainment / music throughout, Hog Roast and salads. Tickets cost £10 / £5 Children under 12 and are available from the Office. All are welcome.

Terry Nash Abseil for Rowans Hospice - Terry was Club Manager from 1983 - 1996 and built the foundations of the galley and bar we come to enjoy today. Terry has done a number of stunts to raise cash for Rowans and his latest adventure is to abseil Spinnaker Tower on Sunday 9th Jul 17 at 5.00pm.
